Listening to the Wind
I was called to the sacred Valley to perform a ceremony on my behalf.
As I arrived and made my little spot by the river, it was gently misting.
I burned some sacred incense and rolled a tobacco, grounded and got clear on my prayers.
I began to drum and sing, listening to the gentle flow of the water rushing over the stones.
The first step of the ceremony was to make offerings of wilted flowers, to the ancestors of Earth for all that I’m shedding and releasing.
I sat at the waters edge on a warm stone, and began offering the wilted flowers.
As I spoke my prayers and made offerings the flowers danced down the river…
When I completed this part of the ceremony, the rain came stronger.
The wind began to blow, and I received the sacred message.
I allowed myself to receive the wind and the rain as though I was dry Earth absorbing the essence.
I was shown how the death initiation showed me what I have energy for and what I don’t.
I was shown what I needed to shed and let go of, what isn’t working all of which was offered as compost to be transformed.
There is so much to unpack around the pivoting of my work from the totem of the womb which I will share over time…
Living life as ceremony is the way that I live my life, it weaves the sacred into the mundane, and brings inspiration to places of exhaustion.
I submerged myself in the holy waters of the sacred valley, like a baptism for the soul given to me by our Earth mother.
