Dowsing Rods for Divination

Dowsing Rods: A Sacred Conversation with the Unseen

There is an ancient knowing that moves beneath the surface of all things, a quiet current that hums through the land, through the body, through the space between worlds.

For centuries, across cultures and traditions, dowsing rods have been used as tools to listen to this current—to sense water flowing beneath the earth, to find lost objects, to reveal hidden pathways, and to communicate with the unseen.

The origins of dowsing are woven into history and mystery alike. Some say it dates back to ancient China, where texts depict sages using forked branches to divine water and sacred places.

In Egypt, depictions of rods have been found in temple carvings, held in the hands of figures who appear to be engaged in ritual. European history is rich with tales of dowsers seeking underground wells, guided by the invisible pull of the rods in their hands.

But beyond their practical use, dowsing rods have long been revered as a spiritual tool—a means of attuning to energy, of sensing beyond sight, of deepening one’s dialogue with intuition, spirit, and the greater web of existence.

A Tool for Listening to the Sacred

Dowsing is not about controlling or demanding answers—it is about listening. When I pick up the rods, I am not asking them to tell me something I do not know. I am inviting them to mirror back what my body, my spirit, already senses.

To begin, I attune myself. A breath, a stilling, a centering into presence. Holding the rods lightly in each hand, I ask:

"Show me my Yes."

I wait. The rods move—sometimes crossing, sometimes shifting outward. I take note, feeling into the response.

"Show me my No."

A different motion comes. Perhaps they pull apart, or one remains still while the other moves. This is my body's way of speaking, a language older than words.

From here, the conversation begins. I ask what is aligned. I ask for clarity. I ask what my body already knows but my mind may not yet have caught up with. The rods do not hold power over me—they are an extension of my own knowing, a bridge between the seen and the unseen.

A Practice of Devotion

Throughout time, those who have walked the path of deep listening—mystics, healers, medicine people—have used dowsing as a way to attune to energy, to discern truth, to clear spaces, and to call forth guidance. The rods respond to both the unseen and the deeply felt, guiding one toward what is hidden. They are sensitive to spiritual presences, revealing movement where the veil is thin, where energy gathers, where something wishes to be known.

At the same time, they attune to the body's own electromagnetic field, reacting to the subtle shifts of energy within and around the holder. A reflection of the body's knowing, the rods move in harmony with the quiet signals we so often overlook—the pulse of intuition, the language of energy, the resonance of truth felt deep in the bones.

To work with dowsing rods is to enter into a conversation—one that bridges the seen and unseen, the physical and the energetic, the known and the waiting-to-be-revealed. It is a practice of listening, of presence, of trust in the wisdom that already flows through and around us.

Naomi Amaya Love

I am Naomi Amaya Love, Mystic Medicine Woman, Priestess, and Animal Communicator devoted to guiding you through the pain bodies and into the holy, whole, and healed self.

For more than three decades, I have walked the path of the healer. I have held thousands of ceremonies, guided others through life’s initiations, and witnessed the beauty of true transformation. My own life has been one of fire and devotion. I am the alchemy of trauma, shaped by the sacred fires of experience and guided by grace. The path has taught me that healing is not theory but embodiment, a living practice of returning to the essence of self. Every wound I have tended in myself has become medicine that now serves others.

I walk with those who feel the call to live in devotion, to move beyond grief, fear, and survival, and return to the truth of who they are. My role is to hold the sacred field of remembrance so you may live from your wholeness and strength.

Ceremonies, sessions, medicine days, retreats, mentorships, and apprenticeships offer pathways for healing and awakening. Each one meets you where you are and supports you in returning to harmony with your divine design.

I am attuned to the languages of the subtle, Earth, animals, plants, and the unseen. I listen for what has not been spoken and translate the wisdom that longs to be remembered. This is the bridge I offer, between the visible and invisible, between pain and divine embodiment.

Where the not-self dissolves, your true essence awakens. A sacred return to your holy, whole, and healed self.

Whether we meet in person or virtually, every experience is a ceremony of remembrance, a return to coherence, peace, and sacred alignment with your life.

I invite you to journey inward and awaken the holy, whole, and healed self within. Together we weave your dreams into the fabric of your life, leaving a legacy of truth, beauty, and grace.

In Devotion,
Naomi Amaya Love
