The Marriage of Power and Pleasure

Yesterday’s Full Moon, I held a private day-long ceremony.

A woman arrived with a clear intention. She had been in conversation with both Hecate and Aphrodite.

Hecate had been visiting her dreams, guiding her toward deeper self-trust and the creation of sacred boundaries. Aphrodite had been calling her toward beauty, love, and the art of receiving.

She wanted to honor both.

An altar bloomed with roses, fruit, chocolate, honey, and offerings for the Goddess. The fire was lit, and as her intentions were spoken, old stories began to rise.

Family patterns around money, guilt, and power came forward. We spoke to the lineage and acknowledged the grandfather who took everything and his own life, leaving his family with nothing. We honored the mother who carried too much and the child who took responsibility for what was never hers.

Through prayer, touch, sound, and breath, her belly softened and her heart opened. She saw the cage she had built to stay safe. Hecate placed the key in her hand. She stepped through. Aphrodite rose within her.

The marriage of the two goddesses happened within her — the boundary and the beauty, the discernment and the devotion.

She released guilt and chose devotion. Gratitude began to flow. Her body remembered what pleasure feels like when it is safe.

This is the medicine of Hecate and Aphrodite: power that honors the heart and pleasure that remembers its divinity.

Where could power dance with pleasure in your life?

In devotion,

Naomi Amaya Love
